Read on as Rosanne Muncy, the company’s founder, shares the story of her business along with some of the rewards and challenges of running her company.
Tell us about yourself.
I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature. I worked in different jobs until I became an at-home mom with my 9 kids that I home school. After my twins were born I started making my own soap for my family & friends and one of my friends owned a natural food store and convinced me to make a business out of it. My interests are organic gardening, soap making, reading, exercising, and teaching others about God’s love.
Why did you start Bare Body Soaps Organics?
I started my business in 2009. I wanted to eliminate the toxins in my family’s world as much as possible. I started with making my own laundry soap and then started making cold-processed soap. I went to organic soaps about 2 1/2 years ago and LOVE it!
What is one of your key strategies for building a successful business?
One key to success for me was making myself just do it. Things don’t have to be perfect before I can sell, create a website, etc. I just need to keep learning and growing WHILE I work, instead of waiting until everything is perfect, because it never will be.
The most rewarding thing about my business is….
….being able to serve others with my products. I know that it will help them to be healthier and happier if they use organic soap, because over 60% of what you use on your skin is absorbed into your body. So, using organic, natural soap lessens the toxins in my customers’ lives makes them healthier, and when you are healthy, you are happy.
The most challenging thing about running a business is….
….staying focused. There are so many things I want to learn and do with my business, but I need to stay focused on getting the job at hand done before tackling something new.

I can’t even pick just one feature, I love everything. I like being able to put my products into different categories easily and to be able to move them around easily too. Offering my store on facebook is another feature I love.
